Sailaway Port Douglas is one of only four boats permitted to moor at the Low Isles on the Great Barrier Reef. The Low Isles are two coral Cays that lie about 17kms north east of Port Douglas, providing great snorkeling sites that lie just offshore along white, sandy beaches and swaying coconut palms. The Low Isle Cay also has an historic lighthouse and an interpretive walk around this historic Cay is provided.
Sailaway is a luxury catamaran so you cruise out to the Low Isles in absolute comfort and get to see how the upper reaches of the yachting fraternity spend their time. You will be treated to coffee, local Daintree tea, biscuits, muffins and pastries on the voyage out, a delicious tropical buffet lunch out at the Low Isles and delicious homemade cakes on the sail back to Port Douglas.
Your guided snorkel tour includes a briefing by the local marine biologist as well as the Low Isles Heritage and Environmental Interpretation.
Because you are travelling in a sailing catamaran this tour has a more relaxed feel than the big power cats that have enormous engines. It makes for a fantastic day of pleasure and adventure and one you won’t forget.
