Sister ships Reef Sprinter and Jet Sprinter operate snorkelling tours to the Low Isles and the Outer Barrier Reef and because these boats are so quick (getting to and from the dive sites from Port Douglas is half the fun with these incredible boats), they are both half day tours. It’s the perfect compromise for people who don’t want to commit an entire day to a snorkelling trip, but nevertheless don’t want to miss out on seeing the incredible Great Barrier Reef.
The rigid inflatable Reef Sprinter has an amazing 900HP engine that propels you across the top of the waves like a rocket, getting you to the Outer Reef in only 40 minutes and giving you up to 2 hours of pure snorkelling enjoyment at some of the best coral on the Great Barrier Reef. On top of that there are only 14 people on the tour so it’s very personalised. This is great if it’s your first time snorkelling and you want some initial guidance.
Morning departures are 8am (check-in at 7.30am), return at 12 noon.
Afternoon departures are 1pm (check-in at 12.30pm), return at 5pm.
Although the jet boats minimise seasickness because they cut through the waves so well, there can be some firm bumps and for that reason these tours are not suitable for people in poor health, with bad backs or bad necks, or anyone who is lucky enough to be pregnant! The minimum age for this tour is 7.
