Kuranda is a picturesque mountain village on the Atherton Tablelands, 25km’s north west of Cairns. Known as the ‘Village in the Rainforest’, this delightful town is overflowing with cafes and restaurants, art and craft galleries and a host of fabulous jewellery, clothes and souvenir shops.
Cape Tribulation offers you a totally different kind of beauty. Located on the coast deep in the Daintree Rainforest, it’s the only place on earth that two World Heritage Listed area meet – the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest.
Wow! This great tour package gives you complementary experiences that represent the very best of tropical Far North Queensland.

The day starts at 7.45am when you are picked up from your accommodation by your driver and guide and driven north from Port Douglas to the ancient, crocodile infested Daintree River. Here you will take a cruise up the Daintree River in search of crocodiles, tree snakes, frogs and amazing bird life.
After the cruise you cross the Daintree River Ferry and enter the very heart of the Daintree Rainforest. This is magnificent and very special country. At more than 120 million years old it is the oldest continuously living rainforest in the world.
At Cape Tribulation you will walk on the beach that forms the connection between two World Heritage Listed areas – the Daintree Rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef marine park. It’s the only place in the world that two heritage listed areas meet.
As if that’s not enough you will also visit the beautiful Mossman Gorge on your way back to Port Douglas. This is one of the best natural swimming holes you will ever see and the purity of the water will amaze you. If you are feeling energetic you can explore the gorge upstream as it winds its way into the spectacular mountains behind Mossman.
