BTS Tours have been operating Daintree Rainforest and Mossman Gorge tours since 1985. In fact we believe their first official tour was a few weeks after the controversial opening of the Bloomfield Track in 1984 (this 4WD track runs from Cape Tribulation to just south of Cooktown).
Not many people are aware of this heritage but the BTS name is clue as the business was originally called Bloomfield Track Safaris. After the Wet Tropics were declared a World Heritage area in 1987 BTS changed their focus from the Bloomfield Track to Cape Tribulation and Mossman Gorge.
So you are in good hands for a wonderful day in the heart of the Daintree Rainforest. ‘Over the river’ as the locals say (north of the Daintree River). The Great Barrier Reef is great, but there’s something magical about crossing the Daintree on the car ferry and disappearing into the virgin rainforest. Beautiful.
This full day tour takes you to all the essential places and a few that other tours miss. The Ferry Crossing, Alexandra Lookout, a cruise around Cooper Inlet, Cape Tribulation beach, Canoeing down a rainforest stream where butterflies, turtles and birds frolic, Rainforest Walks and more.
You will stop for a delicious picnic lunch and chilled fruit juices, but most importantly your guide is there to bring the surroundings to life and it’s this that really makes the day something special.
BTS prices include transfers to and from your Port Douglas accommodation.
Prices from Port Douglas are:
Child (3-14 inclusive): $120
Family (2A+2C): $520
