If you don’t have any interest in going out to the reef or taking a half day tour to the Low Isles, we highly recommend a Sunset Cruise to add a nautical feel to your Port Douglas holiday. It’s the perfect way to watch the sun go down over the spectacular mountains behind Port Douglas and really is something special. A great way to kick off a special evening out in Port.
The Aquarius is a late model 62′ Lagoon catamaran, the sort of yacht you might find in Monaco or moored at an exclusive private island in the Caribbean. Heck, if you are going to watch a magnificent sunset in tropical Far North Queensland, you may as well do it aboard a luxury yacht.
Leave the Marina at 4.45pm and, depending on the conditions, sail out into the bay between the inlet, Snapper Island and the Low Isles, or come around the headland and take a leisurely sail down towards Cairns, parallel with Four Mile Beach. You will be served canapés and are very welcome to bring your own alcohol on board. The size of the Aquarius means there is plenty of room to move around, mingle with your friends and take in the vistas all around.
The evening finishes back at the Marina at 6.15pm where you can take a short stroll back to Wharf and Macrossan Streets to continue the festivities. It doesn’t get much better than that!
